Overview

Dr Luigi Petrone obtained his PhD in Chemistry and five years' post-doctoral experience between New Zealand, Sweden, the United Kingdom and Singapore.  

Luigi recently completed a course of instruction and, having passed the examination in the 'Inspection of Marine Coatings' with distinction has been awarded the title of Registered Marine Coatings Inspector for Superyachts; accredited by the International Institute of Marine Surveying.

RMCI is an industry standard and professional qualification which was instigated by the SuperYacht Builders Association (SYBAss) in conjunction with the International Council of Marine Industry Associations (ICOMIA), the International Institute of Marine Surveyors (IIMS) and the Institute of Corrosion (ICorr). RMCI is the only qualification that is accepted by SYBAss members, paint companies, repair and refit yards and coating facilities worldwide to perform and direct inspection or testing operations of luxury mega and Superyachts.

Luigi is also a certified paint inspector (ICorr Level 2) with expertise and qualification in marine and offshore coatings, and holds a Diploma in Coatings for Corrosion Control (DipCorr).  He is also a Chartered Scientist and Chartered Marine Scientist, Member of the Institute of Marine Engineering, Science and Technology (MIMarEST), Member of the Institute of Corrosion (MICorr),

Member of the Royal Society of Chemistry (MRSC), and Member of the Royal Society of Biology (MRSB).
